Tangier was founded by Berber-Sassanid traders who had come down from Central Asia in 500 AD and settled there for about three centuries before being expelled by invading Arab armies (c. 711–722).

The city's history dates back over 2,000 years ago and has been one of Morocco's most important ports since then. It was once home to an entire population of Jews who lived here before being expelled from Spain in 1492 by Ferdinand II (also known as "Don Felipe"). Nowadays it's become an important tourist destination because of its rich history and culture—and if there aren't any shops or restaurants open yet when you arrive at nightfall then there will be tomorrow morning!

If you want to see some good architecture, this might be the right place for you to visit.

If you want to see some good architecture, this might be the right place for you to visit. There are many different styles of architecture in Tanger and each one has its own unique style.

The city is very old and there are many historical buildings that are still standing today like the Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens. The city also has a rich history that dates back centuries ago when it was first founded by Genoa in 813 AD as a trading post between Spain and Africa; later on it was conquered by Morocco who held its territory until 1520 when they were conquered by Spain again after being driven out by their own army led by Admiral Alonso de Aguilar (who later became King).

There are good restaurants too including some nice cafes where they serve delicious meals such as tagines or paella among other dishes such as seafood risotto!

Conclusion

Tangier is a place where you can experience the best of both worlds. It’s one of our favorite places to visit and we hope it will be yours too!
